Truro- A mystery thriller

The picturesque, coastal town of Truro holds a secret.
Melina Standerside has the perfect life working as a private detective in the city and swimming with her thoughtful girlfriend, Charity Gloop.
However, when she finds a dismembered human remains including a head,legs and ears in her cellar, she begins to realise that things are not quite as they seem in the Standerside family.
A concert leaves Melina with some startling questions about her past, and she sets off to idyllic Truro to find some answers.
At first the people of Truro are considerate and helpful. She is intrigued by the curiously charming cleaner, Marion Blackman. However, after she introduces her to hard alcohol, Melina slowly finds herself drawn into a web of burglary, lust and perhaps, even abduction.
Can Melina resist the charms of Marion Blackman and uncover the secret of the human remains before it's too late, or will her demise become yet another Truro legend?

Fear associated with another crime, namely drug use, indirectly deterred selling. To fully determine the relationship between sanctions, fear, and crime, it is necessary to study such indirect effects.

This is because the commission of some offenses flows from the commission of others. For instance, the more often people are victimized, the more opportunities there are to retaliate; less victimization, then, leads to less retaliation (Jacques, 2010; Jacobs & Wright, 2006).

While some indirect criminogenic effects are logical, such as the link between predation and retaliation, others are more theoretical, as is the one we now describe according to a study published in the journal of medicine.
Restrictive deterrence is the process whereby offenders limit the frequency, magnitude, or seriousness of their offenses to avoid pain according to the study .
Prior research on drug dealing and restrictive deterrence largely focuses on the effect of formal control, or political sanction.
Bentham, however, suggests there are four other types of sanction that may deter offenses: moral, sympathetic, religious, and physical. This paper explores whether and how each sanction type restricts drug sales among a sample of 29 young, suburban, middle-class drug sellers.
The study concludes by examining the usefulness of studying interconnections between the sanctions and by outlining the reasons to choose Bentham’s sanction typology in future work.

Weed linked to death of exchange student

An exchange student fell to his death after ingesting marijuana in Colorado - the first death linked to the drug since it was legalised in the US state according to A BBC report.
Levy Thamba, 19, plummeted from the balcony of a Denver hotel on 11 March 2014 after eating a cannabis-laced cookie. A post-mortem examination found marijuana intoxication was a factor in the Wyoming student's death.
Colorado became the first US state to legalise recreational use of the drug in January. Mr Thamba, a native of the Republic of Congo, had reportedly begun taking classes at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming, the same month.
Currently, 20 US states as well as Washington, DC allow for the sale of medical marijuana, while Washington state is set to introduce legal sales later this year.
