Man Nicked for Jacket theft

Nestor  ,an  unemployed  graduate  with  a  degree   in  civil  engineering from Sidcup has  been

found  guilty  for shoplifting     a  £69 black  jacket  and  assaulting   Jenny,a   shop detective  when confronted  him after  leaving  a  TK Maxx  shop in Gravesend  without  paying  for  the  item  by a magistrate court in Bexley Heath.

CCTV  footage  which  was  played  out  in court  showed  the  defendant  walking  into  the  shop

holding  a  bag with  a  jacket  on  his arm  proceed  to  the   jackets  section,select  a jacket  and  then ripp  offthe  security  tag  and  then  concealing  the  item  under  his  jacket    before  leaving  the  shop without  paying.

According  to   Jenny,she  retrieved  the  security  tag  later  from  another  section  of  the  shop.

CCTV  footage  showed  Jenny  follow   the defendant who  she  invited  back  into  the  shop  for

A  discussion  but  he  on  his  part asked her  to  leave  him  alone,entered  his  car  and  drove off

At  which point  the  police  were  called.

Having  been  interviewed  by  the police ,the  defendant was offered a  caution if  he admitted

Guilt  which he   refused  while  denying any  responsibility  for theft.

At  the  end  of  the  trial ,the  magistrate stated  that  both  charges  against  Nestor  had  been

proved  by  the  prosecution.Consequently,he  was fined £769  and  to has  pay £100  compensation  to Jenny  for  the  shock  she  suffered in her  confrontation  with  the  defendant outside the shop.(4/11/2014)
