Chapter four-The Next Big Deal-Läggestavägen

The five years Knut lived in Bandhagen ,south of Stockholm were some the happiest in his life.Meeting his wife Tamara Chan,through a newspaper advertisement marked a turning point in his drab existence as a newspaper distributor working a night shift from 2am till 6am,six days a week. They lived initially on a street called Läggestaven and later to another address on Björkssungsligan 40.

Tamara was a nursing sister,illustrator,poet and singer with Jewish ethnicity whose parents had emigrated from Russia to Finland after the Second world war.She and her two sisters Lynn and Scarlett eventually moved to stay and find work in Stockholm.She was tall with long,curly brown hair,plump body and an oval face.She stayed together with Lester,her teenage son from a previous relationship.

Knut moved in to stay with Tamara just a couple of days after they met and they got married after staying together for about six months.Their marriage brought Knut closer to Fågelfors in Högsby commune located in the heart of the Swedish countryide where Tamara owned a villa.The family spent weeks staying at her villa in midsummer and summer.Knut’s marriage toTamara brought vitality and liveliness into knut’s personal life while extending his social network.
